The Yards is at the heart of all the development excitement happening in Near Southeast Washington DC. Located on the riverfront, between the exciting new baseball district and the Washington Navy Yard, The Yards will be a vibrant new destination in which to live, work, shop and play.

Downtown DC, Capitol Hill, Federal Triangle, the Verizon Center, the Nationals’ new ballpark, as well as northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs are all just minutes away. The Yards is an easy home base no matter which direction you’re headed.

M Street SE and South Capitol Street are the major east/west, north/south city traffic arteries in near southeast DC. I-395 to the north & I-295 to the south, provide convenient regional access. The Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, currently undergoing a major redesign, renovation, updating and capacity expansion, is just west of the site, providing access across the Anacostia onto Interstate/Route 295 which is a quick and easy connection to the Baltimore/Washington Parkway, US 50 and others. The 11th Street Bridge serves a similar function just east of The Yards.

MetroRail’s Green Line is on M Street with convenient station (Navy Yard) entrances at both New Jersey Avenue and Half Street SE. Several MetroBus lines also run along M Street SE. Planned streetcar service along M Street will provide even more public transportation options.

The Anacostia Riverwalk walking/jogging/biking trail is designed to run through The Yards, connecting with numerous locations upriver as well as planned connections over to the SW waterfront area, running along the Potomac as far as Georgetown. Reagan Washington National Airport is just five miles away and easily accessible via car, cab or MetroRail. The planned public marina at The Yards will provide a place to bring your boat as well as provide planned water taxi service to other river points.
