Art Yards - The Yards
Nov 14 – Dec 14, 2013

Before a building goes down, murals go up. Art Yards is a live public arts project in which local and international artists take over the façade of the former six-story NGA building in Southeast DC as their canvas for one month, after which the building will be demolished. Murals will be led by DC’s favorite artist Kelly Towles and featuring work by Jasper Wong (Hawaii-based artist), Dabs Myla (LA-based Australian duo), and Michael William Kirby (Baltimore-based artist). Street artists “Murals of Baltimore” will be creating 3D acrylic/chalk art for kids and families, and video artist 3-SEARCH, Integrated Visions and United VJ’s will round out the event at the unveiling with a light and video exhibit.
