Lantern Making Family Day at the Yards Park - The Yards
Apr 13, 2014

Come on down to The Yards for National Cherry Blossom Festival’s Lantern Making Family Day event. Lantern making for both kids and adults will be at 10 am and 12:00, with both sessions followed by a parade through the Yards Park. There will be a variety of martial arts throughout the event on the boardwalk and a moonbounce will be set up for children to enjoy. Sushi and other Japanese foods will be available for purchase for picnics in the Yards Park. The event is free and open to the public. The Yards Park, which opened in fall 2010, features a 1/4 mile boardwalk, water features and a canal, gardens and a great lawn, and is just two blocks from the Navy Yard Metro Station.
